Mission statement of NORDAKADEMIE

NORDAKADEMIE is the university for business. As a non-profit institution, it is directly supported by companies. The university fulfills its special mission in teaching and research

with the economy, for society and
with the students at the center.

The principle of freedom of teaching and research applies unreservedly at the university. The sponsors of the university respect and promote this principle and create the organizational and financial conditions for an adequate teaching and research environment.

The main guideline for the development and further development of the curricula is the employability of the students. The courses offered are optimized in constant dialogue with representatives of industry and students. The academic nature and practical relevance of the courses are guaranteed by lecturers who not only have sound academic qualifications, but also many years of experience in the business world. Continuous further training and close contacts with industry ensure that the current state of science and practice is maintained.

Studying at NORDAKADEMIE goes beyond the teaching of pure specialist knowledge and also serves in particular to develop the student's personality. Particular emphasis is placed on the inclusion of ethical and social aspects.

Preparing students for tasks in an international and intercultural environment is a particular concern of the university. To this end, NORDAKADEMIE offers a comprehensive range of foreign languages, courses with an international and intercultural focus and, through close cooperation with foreign partner universities, encourages students to spend a semester abroad.

The university's research profile is characterized by application-oriented projects. The findings and results of the research projects are continuously incorporated into teaching. The quality of teaching and research is reviewed and further developed in a formalized and continuous quality assurance process. The quality management system involves all areas of the university and all groups represented within it. The university is equally committed to providing a high level of service to its cooperating companies and students.

NORDAKADEMIE will continue to consolidate and expand its position in the region and in the higher education landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. However, its activities will also continue to focus on supra-regional cooperation with other universities in Germany and abroad.

The university strives for ethical behavior in all matters towards the members of the university community, but also towards society in general. It is particularly committed to promoting gender equality and equal opportunities, but also to environmental protection.

The university can only meet its objectives, and in particular the high demands of students and business partners, with a highly qualified and exceptionally committed team. The promotion of employees and their long-term commitment to the university are therefore of paramount importance.

In close cooperation with its partner companies, the university trains qualified young professionals who are competent, committed, communicative and responsible in demanding specialist and management tasks in business.

The dual study courses at NORDAKADEMIE are designed in such a way that the synergy effects from the combination of the university and the training company can be optimally used to achieve the qualification goals. The university works closely with the cooperating companies in advising and selecting prospective students, developing the curricula, quality assurance and the transition of graduates into the workplace.

The part-time Master's degree courses are designed to equip future managers with the specialist and methodological knowledge they need to take on and fulfill management tasks responsibly, competently and successfully. The organization of these courses is designed to ensure that participants are able to cope with the demands of work and study.

The range of continuing education courses is being continuously expanded in the spirit of lifelong learning.

Research projects are preferably carried out in close cooperation with industry.

- Performance comes from enthusiasm

When developing and implementing degree programs, the focus is on studyability. The basis is a level of requirements appropriate to the desired university degrees, which should be achievable within the standard period of study.

Small learning groups and intensive, regular dialog with lecturers ensure individual support and the promotion of team spirit among students. The interaction on campus is characterized by a special commitment of the students to the university, but also by a trusting and respectful interaction within the university community.

The promotion of civic engagement - especially in the academic self-administration of the university - is a particular concern of NORDAKADEMIE. Voluntary non-profit student initiatives are particularly supported and appreciated.

An activating and performance-enhancing environment creates the conditions for teaching and learning at a high level. This is ensured by modern facilities and a campus designed close to nature with recreational and sports facilities.

Motivation for lifelong learning should be encouraged during the course of study. After graduation, NORDAKADEMIE is particularly keen to ensure that alumni remain connected to their university. They should remain part of a close, constantly expanding network of the university.

Code of Conduct

for NORDAKADEMIE students

NORDAKADEMIE has been a face-to-face university from the very beginning, not a distance learning university. Since NORDAKADEMIE was founded in 1992, everyone at NORDAKADEMIE has thrived on mutual exchange for and with each other. This togetherness makes studying at NORDAKADEMIE unique. Where many people come together, encounters can turn out very differently.

That is why we have developed our Code of Conduct as a compass for respectful interaction - with dos and don`ts for study life, teaching and sustainability. Our actions should always be based on this compass. The goal of every encounter is trusting, respectful cooperation. Whether among students, staff or lecturers.
